Archaeological Sites: Bastam
Bistam, as Ernst Herzfeld referred to the site, is also known as Bastam and Bestam; a village in Khorasan, it is located in northeastern Iran, about 6 kilometers north of Shahrud. Founded in the sixth century, Bastam is now known for its Islamic monuments from the Ilkhanid period. These squeezes are from a wall of the Congregational Mosque.
