Medical and Modern Yoga
Keynote: Dean Ornish, Preventative Medicine Research Institute
In conjunction with Yoga: The Art of Transformation, the Freer and Sackler Galleries host a symposium on modern yoga practice, therapy, and research. This is a groundbreaking collaboration between art museums and the emerging field of integrative medicine. Speakers renowned for their contributions to the transformation of Western thinking discuss “The Fine Art and Science of Yoga,” “Yoga Practice in Modern Society,” “Yoga, a Therapeutic Intervention,” “Transformations in Modern Medicine,” and “Scientific Research on Yoga and Yoga Therapy.”
The symposium was organized by Linda Lang, Therapeutic Yoga of Greater Washington.
