Composer Vivian Fung introduces her String Quartet no. 2, which received its world premiere at this performance. At the age of nineteen, she received her first commission from Gerard Schwarz and the New York Chamber Symphony. Her subsequent works have been performed by the Seattle Symphony, American String Quartet, and Edmonton Symphony, among many others. She is on the faculty of the Juilliard School.
