Recent Acquisitions

We are interested in continually adding images and albums to our collection of photographs of Iran. One recent acquisition is this early twentieth-century album that was produced and sold by Le Bon Marché in Paris. Its display pockets contain seventy-six single and group portraits, dating from the 1860s to the 1940s, taken by a variety of professional photo studios. Formats range from large cabinet prints to small cartes de visite, with photographs inserted into pockets rather than glued onto pages.

Please contact us if you have similar photographs or albums of Iran to donate or if you can identify any of the people and places seen here.
