Obach & Co.
Charles Obach began working for the Goupil Gallery in London in the 1860s, where he eventually became the branch manager. He left the gallery in 1884 and founded Obach & Company with Hans Velten. One year after Obach's retirement in 1900, the company moved to New Bond Street and operated independently for a decade until 1911 when it merged with Colnaghi. Freer purchased five watercolors from the company, three of which (Milly Finch
, Flower Market: Dieppe
, and Resting in Bed
) previously belonged to Walter Sickert before being sold through Obach.
